Please cover your name on the back of your quilt with muslin or tape for judging.
Each quilt is registered and numbered separately for maximum security. Most homeowner policies will provide insurance protection for your quilts. Overnight security services are provided on the premises.
Starting at 4:45 pm on Sunday, June 18, 2017, pickup numbers will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Pickup of entries will be at the end of the show, from 5:00 to 5:30 pm. The signed receipt is required for return of quilt(s) to the owner.
Sale of Quilts and Wallhangings: Our primary goal is to display the wide variety of quilting talent in the area. Some quilters choose to sell their work. Therefore, in order to maintain the beauty and consistency of our Show, we will retain the quilts and wallhangings which sell until the conclusion of the Show.
2017 Highlights Will Include:
Coal Mining in Appalachia Challenge We invite members to create a quilt that tells the story of coal mining in our area. This is a topic that is so current in politics. It is also for many members part of their family history. Use your imagination and create a three layer small quilt not to exceed 45” on any side or angle.
Lita Havens Portrait Art Quilt Challenge Design a portrait art quilt (a person or a pet) to size of 20" X 20". The quilt must be constructed in fabrics. Any techniques may be used to make the quilt. Embellishments may be added if desired. It must consist of 3 layers and must be quilted. Quilt will be judged for the creativity and originality. Monetary awards - $50 first prize, $35.00 second prize and $25.00 third prize.
